How to Remove Awesomehp

Awesomehp.com removal can be tricky to remove if you don’t know how. What is Awesomehp.com? Its a search engine which is classified as a browser hijacker and categorized as a potentially unwanted program which can be  harmful to your computer if left. How do they get on my computer? They are usually bundled in third-party freeware and shareware software, when installing the software you are usually given a option to accept or decline an offer to install the unwanted software, these can be tricky to spot for the person who just likes to rush the installation by just keep clicking  next  while installing.

Once installed it changes your browser homepage it also changes your default search engine to Awesomehp.com. So is the a virus? No not really it’s considered to be a browser hijacker which installs unwanted browser extensions to Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox and other types of browsers without user consent.

I have done lots over videos on removing these type of malicious software, another type of pest is tool-bars that get silently installed onto your computer system, these type of infections cause advert pop-ups, browser redirect to advertisement sites.

Step 1: Uninstall Awesomehp Software by using Add\Remove Programs.

Windows 7                                                  Windows 8

Window 7: Go Start Button /Control Panel     Windows 8:  Go Charms Bar / Settings / Control Panel

Look for WPM17.8.0.3325 and select Uninstall
Look for IePluginService and select Uninstall
Look for SupTab and select Uninstall

Important: Now take a good look and remove any other malicious software.

STEP 2: Remove Awesomehp.com from Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox  

Remove awesomehp.com from Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet explorer
2. Go to top left corner and click on the Gear icon
3. Select Manage Add-Ons, then Toobars & Extensions remove any unwanted programs
4. Then Search Providers remove any unwanted search providers

Remove awesomehp.com from Google Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome, go to menu on top right  , select Tools > Extensions 
2. Remove any unwanted apps by clicking on  recycle bin

Remove awesomehp.com from Mozilla Firefox

1. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+A and remove any rogue extensions.

STEP 3:  Clean all Browser Shortcuts That Have Been Hijacked

• Right Click on the Browser Shortcut Icon and select Properties,
• Click on the Shortcut Tab
• In the target field delete anything after the main executable file

• Remove awesomehp.com behind executable “iexplore.exe” in Target https://www.awesomehp.com (remove link in red)

Reset Homepage in Browsers

 Reset Internet Explorer homepage

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to “wrench” icon in top right corner
3. Select Internet Options
4. Go to tab General
5. Replace awesomehp.com homepage with https://www.google.co.uk. (Important: “DO NOT CLICK” use Default or Use current.)
6. Now repeat above process with other browser you may be using.

Reset Browser Settings

Reset Internet Explorer to Default settings

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to “wrench” icon in top right corner
3. Select Internet Options
   
4. Go to Advanced Tab
5. Click Reset to set to  “Default Settings“

Reset Google Chrome to Default settings

1. Open Google Chrome
2. Go to the   in the right top corner
3. Select Settings
4. Scroll down to the end of the page, search for + Show advanced settings
5. Scroll down to end of the page and click Reset browser settings button
6. Click Reset once more

Reset Mozilla Firefox to default settings

1. Open Mozilla Firefox
2. Right space on top of browser
3. Put tick in Menu Bar
4. Select Help > Troubleshooting information
5. Select Reset Firefox
6. Confirm Reset Firefox
7. Select Finish
8. Mozilla Firefox will automatically restart

  Now Lets Clean System up with AdwCleaner

Right Click AdwCleaner.exe  and Run as Administrator

Click yes to User Account Control to continue.

Click Scan button, and wait for scan to complete.

Once AdwCleaner has finished scanning your computer, click on tabs to check what it has found and make sure there is nothing in there you want to keep. (if so remove tick from item you wish to keep)

Nothing to uncheck? Click Clean button to continue with clean-up process.

All programs will be closed to complete safe cleaning process.

Once finished AdwCleaner will reboot your computer.

On reboot AdwCleaner will create a log of what it found and removed from your computer.

Now Lets Clean System up with JRT

Push any key to continue with a scan, this is simular to Adwcleaner

Once complete JRT will create a log of what it found and removed from your computer.
