Tronscript is overrated I don't like not having any control over the malware removal process

Fair enough.
I agree that backing up and reinstalling is pretty much the way to go, but just like anything in IT you'll have people telling you otherwise.

I try not to wipe the computer system unless I really have to because it inconveniences the customer too much. Also if the person has loads of programs, plugins, setting etc they will all be gone.

Of course, wiping should be the last resort, but honestly it's the least painful one.

yes reinstall is sometimes the way to go but it's not the best fix for everything
you have lots tech reinstalling windowsl for pretty much nothing the computer catch the flu/cold reinstall windows
then bill the customer an arm and leg

I just did a Virus / Malware Removal service call where 2 other techs suggested a wipe and reload and the last one who was an IT guy at a corporation suggested getting a "NEW COMPUTER"...lol WOW!!
