does the drive letter need to be C in this when i go into windows boot cd

#5
yes because normally windows files would be stored in the C Drive

#6
D: will be the CD and C: will be your windows directory where your coping your file to.

the reason i ask what drive it is because i have 2 hard drives that boot into windows 7

#8
To show all drives in the cmd use the following command:

Code:
wmic logicaldisk get deviceid, volumename, description

Then just pick the drive letter with your corrupt file and use that.
