  CPU usage high
Posted by: ernestad - 08-16-2017, 06:33 AM - Forum: Windows 7 - Replies (8)

Hello everyone,

I have a windows 7 64bit systems with 16GB of RAM and its been a week now that every time I login to the system the CPU usage goes to 40% with out opening window, I open the task manager to check under processes just to check what is causing this problem and the only Image name that is a little high was the explore.exe at 38 but this is normal, before it was reading the same thing and the CPU usage was running at 10%. Do you guys think I have a virus? Is there a tool that I can run to find out what it causing my CPU usage to go from 10% to 40 and sometime 50%.

Thank you in advance.

Ernest

I am not to computer savey but I do know when editing my youtube videos I could select some type of exelleration before.
Now this is ngreyed out and not available?
My guess is maybe to many resources are taken?

How can I safely disable resources? Each time I select one it will say that " If you end this process it may result in unstable system or program crash."
Is there a software that can automatically disable the safe once?

It looks like the highest resources ae Anti Virus, IOBit Malware and Advanced System Care.
The Hard drive constantly jumps from 30 to 100%

When I render video it always stops at about 60%
Will it render faster by having the files on a external drive?

I just dont know how to fix this and would like some safe suggestions for dummies.
Thanks Rolleyes

  IDE to AHCI
Posted by: zINc - 08-13-2017, 07:41 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (17)

Hi all,

SO we all know that connecting one hd from another one PC to another with different hardware is going to be trouble..

I have an older Windows 7 machine that I have CLONED the hd.
(I need it and all its software)

The new PC has different MB etc..

I went into the new PC bios, although it has an "AHCI" it will not change to IDE
Windows loads and gets stuck at Windows logo..then crashes into loop.

I am aware of the registry hack once ur in Windows but not there....

Any suggestions to get this cloned hd into a new PC would be appreciated.

Thanks!
