I am new to the forum. I have asked this elsewhere, but have not resolved the issue.
I have 3 computers on a Workgroup. This is a wireless network. 1)AMD_XP (desktop running XP sp3), 2)Dell laptop running Vista Home SP2, 3)Lenovo running Win 10 Home. I have printer attached to AMD_XP it is shared. This set up has worked for 3+ years. Had a HDD failure on Lenovo, had it fixed and replaced with SSD recently. Now trying to access the printer from the Lenovo. It does not see the AMD_XP, but does see the Dell. The AMD_XP shows all 3 in Network. The Dell can access and share the Printer on the AMD_XP. The Lenovo (Win 10) gets regular updates.
All 3 machines are in workgroup "WORKGROUP". The AMD_XP is used primarily for Printing from the laptops. I can not get the Lenovo to see the AMD_XP, and thus can not use the printer. I am not a network person.
Bottom line --How to create a Workgroup with XP, Vista and Win 10 and share Printer that is physically connected to XP machine.
Any advice or assistance will be appreciated.
I did get a response to set up a Homegroup. And my response was
-It is my understanding that HOMEGROUP only applies for Win7 and upwards.
Thanks in advance.
