W'sup lads,
My laptop shuts down whenever the battery is 50% and the sad news is ,it doesn't warn me before it shuts down. You guys know why?Is it my battery or a hardware issue?
Asus X537
Windows 7
Cheers.
Hi Mow,
It may just be an OS issue. Check in the Power Options function to see what the settings are as you can change what the laptop does at different % of power usage.
You may get more help if you post this in the tech support section under General or one of the OS sections as more members will see it.
But try the Power Options function first as it may be a simple fix.
And Welcome to the Forums
Thanks a lot for the replies guys, much appreciated.
I did what you guys told me to do and let's hope my laptop won't shut down after 50 % low battery.
My battery is charging successfully however I'm pretty sure its dying too quickly. It's been almost 3 years that I have this laptop(ASUS).
By the way, I download the Battery v1.20 and it's very helpful indeed. And yeah one thing that I've been wondering about,It's saying that my "Battery Wear Level" is 49.9%,what is the meaning of this ? Is it the reason why my laptop is shutting down after 50%? How to fix ?
Thanks a lot lads.

Over time batteries will wear down/out depending on how heavily they get used.
If you don't often use the battery and are in an area where 'Brownouts' / Power Surges etc are not often then you can always remove the battery and just run straight off the mains power.
That BatteryInfoView is a good find, never seen that before. Added to my tool kit!
I normally use the battery stats from HWMonitor.
Only the best from the old Britec mate
I have seen bad batteries cause similar issues to this. If this issue just started happening suddenly and that battery has not been holding a charge that well as stated. One would think a new battery would be in order.
