Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine
#1
Hello to all,

This is the second time I getting this error message, the first time was about a Month ago, I found that typing this code slmgr -rearm will removed the error message, but now I found out that it was only for a Month, I do not know what change in my system that now its telling me that I'm not running a genuine windows system, is this a malware? I bought my laptop directly form HP. Is there a permanent fix for this, or I need to engage HP on this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Ernest.

As long as you have a COA sticker you should contact MS as the key may have somehow become corrupted (for want of a better word).

Thank you for your advise GuiltySpark, I called Microsoft and for $40.00 they gave me another product Key, They told me that my previous key was block by Microsoft, don't know the reason for that, but know my windows has a valid activation Key.

If you had a valid key, you should of never give them the $40

Are you sure it was Microsoft that you called?

I have dealt with Microsoft many times and have never asked me to buy a new key, I think you have lost your $40 for nothing. What number did you call?
