0x0000005 error message Windows 7
#1
Hi everyone!

Can Anyone share a fix with me in this?

Ive ran into "The Application was unable to start correctly" With the error code 0x0000005

So it means I cant run any of my applications!

Ive done the chkdsk /r and sfc checker which said it found files that where corrupted and couldnt fix them.

And I can't do a system restore

Any help would be great! Thanks Rob

Hi RobCharles1981,

which programs in particular are displaying the error message? Can you take a snapshot of the error message when running the program using the Snipping Tool

What windows are you running?

In answer to repairing the corrupted files which sfc couldn't do, please right click cmd and select run as an administrator. Then type the following command and press enter on your keyboard:
Code:
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Be paitence and let it run, then after it has completed, restart your computer and run sfc /scannow again and hopefully it should repair them.

Also for us to better help you, please can click on the following links and follow the instructions to post your system specs:

@Rec

Those DISM commands don't work on win 7.

0x05 is usually related to RAM errors but we would need to know the program that isn't working, look in Event Viewer for a list of the latest errors and timestamps to find which one is the cause.

I know they don't, oops I didn't read the title correctly!

Do you have the dump file that error produced? because this can be related to a number of things.

In no particular order

1. Bad Memory
2. Malware
3. Corrupt Registry File
4. Antivirus
5. Windows Service Packs or Bad Update File (Example: kb:3126587, kb:3126593 etc etc)
6. Bad Video Driver or other Driver.

and many others.

Hi Brian,

First of all my General System Specs:

Intel Core I5 750
8 Gig Ram
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
2 SSD
AMD Radeon R90 Graphics

Well at this stage I didn't save any dump files but I took a screenshot:

All of My Applications wouldn't load giving me the 0xc0000005 Code! And where unable to load and I was at a loss, couldn't access the internet through my browsers as they would crash with them error codes!
So I decided to backup and re-install my Computer, but I do have backup images from Jan 30th.

I have no idea what caused the issue! :-S

Cheers
Rob

boot into safe then see if you will get the error

So is this error only related to Firefox browser or are you receiving it for other things?
