Bypassing password on Windows 7 without third party

Hi guys, I have tried logging into my computer without the Windows 7 disc. I followed the instructions of a you tube video. https://youtu.be/xXFV1w-8jww
I've made it all the way to the command prompt. I type in "net user" enter. It brings up administrator, David, guest.
Then I type in; net user David *
It brings up the password reset. I type in my new password but when I try and log in it says user name or password incorrect. What can I do to bypass?

Try it again but don't type a psswrd instead just hit Enter.

If you can log in then you should be able to change the psswrd from the control panel - user accounts.
