System Thread Exception Not Handled

Hey Gents,

I'm trying to upgrade my Win 7 laptop to the new Win 10 and running into a few set backs. I've been scouring the Microsoft Community forums without much luck so I figured I would see if anyone here has any helpful knowledge.

I can download all the files okay. It generally fails once the system tries to restart and I get a System Thread Exception Not Handled, Blue Screen of Death for Windows 8-10 from what I read. When I look back at the details in the Windows Update log it gives me one of two error codes (C1900101) and (80200011). So far I've only done a few things since it takes about 5 hours to try the upgrade all over again.

1. I deleted my NVIDIA drivers however I left my Intel Drivers installed.
2. I uninstalled my Anti Virus
3. I removed all my external USB devices (just a mouse).

All of which is what I found on the Microsoft Community boards. If you guys need specifics on my hardware just let me know.

are you getting this error when trying to upgrade to windows 10 or

after you upgrade to windows 10 and install updates

  • Was everything on your computer compatible?
  • Clean install or upgrade?
  • Did you upgrade and keep nothing or did you keep programs and files?

I get the error while I'm trying to update to Win 10. It will try to restart, appear with a Windows Icon and then Loading Files.....then the error. I never make it to the Windows screen.

The compatibility test that Microsoft runs comes out fine, no issues. I'm upgrading my Win 7, keeping all my files and such. I've made a back up on my external just in case it wipes everything.

ok you can try a clean install

Yeah sounds like a issue with a program or drivers, you might want to save nothing and do a clean install using your upgrade, there is a feature that lets you do that.

i got this problem from two days and now i'm sick with this.
did anyone find the new solution?

John, can you please start a new thread with your tech question. Because it can get very confusing supporting two people or more on the same thread. Thanks.
