Windows Secure Boot is EXPIRING: Do This Before June 2026!Windows Secure Boot certificates are reaching their “End of Life” starting June 2026. If you haven’t updated your UEFI CA certificates, your PC’s boot-level security is about to expire. In this video, we break down exactly what is happening, why it matters, and the simple steps you need to take right now to stay protected.
The Deadline: June 2026 (Initial phase) & October 2026 (Final enforcement).
🔍 PowerShell Command to Check Status:
Copy and paste this into PowerShell (Run as Administrator) to see if you have the “2023” certificates:
[System.Text.Encoding]::ASCII.GetString((Get-SecureBootUEFI db).bytes) -match ‘Windows UEFI CA 2023’
(If it returns “True,” you are already updated!)
To manually deploy the 2023 certificates:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Secureboot /v AvailableUpdates /t REG_DWORD /d 0x5944 /f
Start-ScheduledTask -TaskName “\Microsoft\Windows\PI\Secure-Boot-Update”
