Today we take a look how to stop windows updates from destroying your laptop. Microsoft is pushing out BIOS updates and firmware updates in Windows updates. Lots of laptops are getting bricked BIOS when laptop shuts down while doing a firmware update or BIOS update. This can be turned of in BIOS. UEFI capsule update package needs to be disabled or you can disable a group policy.

Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
Browse the following path:
Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Update ( / Manage updates offered from Windows Update)
On the right side, double-click the Do not include drivers with Windows Update policy.
Select the Enabled option.
Click Apply.
Click OK.
