Stop Programs From Preventing Windows 11 Shutdown

Today we will take a look at how to Stop Programs From Preventing Windows 11 Shutdown.

1. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop 2. Create a String Value called AutoEndTasks if it doesn’t already exist. Right click in the right pane and select New String Value. Then rename the one it creates to AutoEndTasks. Now Set AutoEndTasks to 1

3. Create a String Value called WaitToKillAppTimeout if it doesn’t already exist. Right click in the right pane and select New String Value. Right click in the right pane and select New String Value. Then rename the one it creates to WaitToKillAppTimeout. Set WaitToKillAppTimeout to 2,000.

4. Create a String Value called HungAppTimeout if it doesn’t already exist. Right click in the right pane and select New String Value. Right click in the right pane and select New String Value. Then rename the one it creates to HungAppTimeout. Set HungAppTimeout to 2,000.

5. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control Set WaitToKillServiceTimeout to 2,000.

Close regedit and restart your PC.
