Repair Infected Master Boot Record (MBR)
For what ever reason you may need to write a new MBR, so in this video I will show you how to write a new MBR with MbrFix in Hiren’s Boot CD. Its a simple job to do once you know how. Sometimes your MBR may be infected by a Rootkit and your need to rewrite a new MBR.
Here is the commands we are going to use.
Windows XP
MbrFix /drive 0 fixmbr
Windows Vista
MbrFix /drive 0 fixmbr /vista /yes
Windows 7
MbrFix /drive 0 fixmbr /win7 /yes

Dear Sir,
I have the Hirens boot cd 15.2 & tried to follow your video many times using the commands you listed but it will not work.It keeps saying unrecognizable command.What do I need to do now.Also I have trouble loading the CD.I keep getting errors when loading the Mini Windows from the CD.Also I have used the CD to repair a MBR on other computer years ago & didn’t use the command prompt just used click & go feature but I don’t remember exactly how I did that.I have gotten into the click & go segment but have no luck on anything I try.STUCK…Can you help.Maybe CD is just bad.
