Follow these steps to lock people out of your network.

Change WiFi Password
Change SSID Key and Passphrase Name
Hide SSID Name
Setup Mac Filtering
Use a stronger Wi-Fi Security like WPA2-PSK (TKIP), WPA2-PSK (AES) for stronger security algorithms.
Never use Open WiFi, WEP 64 or older old WEP protocol standard its to vulnerable.
Upgrade Router if your using a old Router.
Change Router Password
Use Strong Passwords and not default passwords and change them regularly.
Use Ethernet when ever possible
