CPU Fan Speed Error on Boot? Here’s the FIX! A “CPU fan speed detection error” means the motherboard isn’t detecting a fan on the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard. This happens with AIO liquid coolers where the pump is plugged into the AIO_PUMP header on the motherboard leaving the CPU_FAN empty. To fix this error, enter your BIOS, and change the fan speed monitoring settings, changing the CPU_FAN speed setting to “ignore” will make error disappear.
