Plex Just Lost Their Minds… ($750 Lifetime Pass?!)
Plex just shocked the entire home media community by announcing a massive price hike for its Lifetime Pass—jumping from $150 all the way up to $750. In this video, we break down exactly what Plex is thinking, the math behind this insane 5x increase, and why the community is completely losing its mind.
With a $750 price tag, it now takes nearly 11 years of annual payments just to break even on a lifetime license. Is Plex still worth it before the July 1st deadline, or has tech greed finally ruined the best media server tool on the market?
We’ll also look at the massive backlash on Reddit and whether it’s time to finally jump ship to open-source alternatives like Jellyfin or Emby.
What do you think? Is a Plex Pass still worth it to you, or are you migrating your server? Let me know in the comments below!
