Hi chris36202,

USB ports don't really have pins. Are you referring to the underside of the central "slab"

RE: Bent usb port - chris36202 - 09-07-2014

yes i think
They look like copper or gold pins

RE: Bent usb port - GuiltySpark - 09-07-2014

I'm assuming they are bending out/downwards, ideally you would need to get decent access to them which would mean taking the laptop apart, however, it may be possible to get a pair of needle nose pliers in there....but it is very fiddly work and there is as far as I'm aware no one true method to this.

Just be careful not to overbend and snap them off.

Is the Laptop still under warranty?

just a thought if you try make sure you are powered off and remove battery Chris good luck

If you can't bend the pins/connectors back then you only really have two options...

1. Desolder/resolder a new USB socket onto the motherboard. (The USB socket may even be on a daughter board, which will be a lot easier to replace)
2. Accept the loss and buy a USB hub

Here is a replacement

HP Compaq Presario C700 Laptop USB Port Board & Cable

Good news is it comes on its own board, so no soldering.
