Greetings,
I have been looking through tour videos, but I don't seem to find 1 that can help me, my issue is, I have a problem with error code 0x45d, it is a pre installed system, so I have no disc, Acer Aspire X3470 running Windows 7 Home Premium, I have tried to created a factory restore disc for the recovery software but it failed.

Any advice or help if you can will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance.

yes I am using the machine now, I have done a factor restore before and got the following message

while trying to reset my acer to the factory default using erecovery an error occurred during the process. retore failed - error 0x45d (WIMApplyImage cannot apply image: the request could not be performed due to an I/O device error. how can I fix this without a cd?

after the message the machine continued to reboot, but I am guessing there is a problem somewhere
ok I will run the test or tests, I have also noticed that I get a error message while opening image files (Windows Live Photo Gallery encountered a eroor loading wlxphotoview.dll and can't start error code: 0x800700c1) all error codes started after the factory restore failed.

Smart test and short drive self test passed with seatools, crystaldiskinfo has health status at caution, so I will provide a screenshot
open Command Prompt type the following command and then press Enter.
sfc /scannow

Check your hard disk for errors
https://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

also I would start backing any data on the hard drive that you need

the hard drive seems ok for now I would check it regularly

does the sfc scan require command prompt to be run as administrator? and I will have to check for errors after I log off as it requires a reboot, and ill they be a log anywhere thanx.

the sfc scan has just finished in admin mode - corrupt files have been found, but unable to fix
ok the hard disk check for errors will run after you restart your computer

do that first then try running sfc /scannow again

if that don,t work Try to perform a clean boot and see if you will still get the error

I am sorry I am a bit confused now, you say do a clean boot to see if I still get the error, but which eror are you referring to?
As Compton said I would not trust that hard drive. Your drive is failing and I would not trust any more software troubleshooting methods. You need to replace your hard drive.
