hi everyone.

I'm a big fan of Britecs videos and I've been having computer problems lately this was the first place I thought to come to ask for some help. (My OS is Win 8.1)

Just today when I turned on my computer it booted fine but then went to a black screen the keyboard flashed a few times and this error came up (see image)

The first problem is that I can't access the event viewer as I have no GUI and I cannot find a way to view them in cmd (through the cmd on the recovery usb)

I have tried automatic repair. No problems found. I tried to do a system restore but for some reason it is like the files never are replaced as it says I can go back to the restore point I just went back to. Not sure if that is because I am booting into a recovery USB using UEFI?

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with this issue and make sure that I don't loose any files (this is important) I would be forever in your favour.

Thanks in advance.

When I press F8 nothing happeneds it just boots into the problem OS
sorry I forgot windows 8.1 don,t have that option try boot in to safe mode

and see if you still get the error

  1. The screen shot you posted is from a Windows 7 machine. Windows 8 don't have errors that look like that for this type of error.
  2. There was a hot fix for that issue in Windows 7 "Logon Process Initialization Failure" error message and the logon process does not start in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
  3. Maybe try System Restore
  4. Refresh your PC

You could also try the RegBak fix. Perhaps the user profile is corrupt.

Try method 1 below.

RegBak
