my motherboard recently went bad this is how I troubleshoot it

how to troubleshoot a PC that's   powering  on but no display


what it could be

bad memory

bad motherboard

bad video card

bad CPU  

bad power supply

lets  troubleshoot



first unplug  DVD/CD Rom and HDD only need the memory and CPU for display    


lets  start with your video card

take out your video card get  one that"s working
if still  no display your video is good



memory

if you take out  your memory  getting a beeping  sound bad memory
if no beeping sound memory good



power supply

if you take out your power supply with a working power supply get a display bad power supply if still no display power supply good



motherboard

at this point I would say bad motherboard is your problem  


CPU

99% of times CPU don,t go bad
