So i got a new PC a few weeks ago and it came with Windows 8.1 x64 pre-installed, first thing i did was make a USB recovery stick which works fine as i tested it after my PC wouldn't boot from its own recovery partition. The message i get is "windows cannot find the recovery environment" so i did some searching and noticed i had 2 recovery partitions, is this my problem and if so is there a way to fix it as i would like to have the option to recover from my PC and not rely on my USB. Below are some screenshots i thought you guys would ask for. Thanx
what are the size of the 2 recovery partition.
One is 8.79GB and the other 300MB you can see in the above image. Also my Windows RE status is Disabled, i try to Enable but is says Failed.
What is the make of the computer?

Your new computer should be under warranty, have you call the company you got the computer from?
Its Zoostorm and i called them today and they are gonna send me a Recovery Disc, once i get that would i be able to wipe the drive with Dban or something and use the Recovery Disc to re-install or do i need a proper copy of Windows 8.1 ? .
yes you could wipe the HDD with Dban and still use the Recovery Disc

Thanx i think i will do that, will i have any trouble with activation or will it work fine as its same OS. I did manage to get a key using Proudkey would that be my proper key. Just to recap i can wipe the drive and do a fresh install from the Zoostorm Recovery Disc ? i didnt think it was able to do fresh installs from a Recovery Disk.
no you will not get any problem with windows activation since you are using the recovery media
its not really a 100% fresh installs because it will come with Zoostorm bloatware
if you want a 100% fresh install you will have to buy a windows 8.1 DVD and complete format HDD then re install windows8.1 from the DVD
