Howdy All,
            Have a Toshiba Laptop S50T-B Model Number PSPQ8A-008008 loaded with Windows 8 however the former owner (now deceased) had set a BIOS password which is preventing the system from booting.

Any advice on being able to get into the BIOS to remove or reset the password would be much appreciated, machine isn't fitted with an optical drive.

you can try taking out the cmos battery or clear the  jumper switch for the bois

Thanks for that -both those options have crossed my mind however I cannot identify either the cmos battery or the jumper switch on the mb of this particular model, any assistance in locating them would be very much appreciated.

This is not a easy task for the average user. You will need to get schematics for that motherboard. There will normally be two solder pads which you can use to jumper or short to clear BIOS/CMOS Password. They are normally located under the Wi-Fi  & Memory slot cover, sometimes under stickers. (but they can be located in other locations, hence why you need schematics)

Remember:

1. Remove Battery 

2. Remove Mains Adapter
3. Remove Wi-Fi card (only in some cases)
4. Short for 30 seconds.
5. System should then shutdown automatically.
6. Now turn Laptop back on, the password should be removed.

It can be a nightmare for the average user if you have no experience in BIOS password removal.

Sometimes with those Toshibas you need to jump the pads while depressing the power button. A real pain. I end up just soldeing a jumper wire on the pads and then depress the power button with about a 50% success rating.
