Yes Windows does it automatic, so don’t bother with it.
Here is what I do:

- Use free Auslogics Disk Defrag on (Windows Vista and Below)
- Don't defrag SSD Solid State Drives
- Don’t bother with Windows 7, 8 or 10
- Not using SSD (get one, it will speed up your computer)
- I will use software for some old type drives that have windows install and show a heavily fragmented drive.
