Auslogics do some pretty good tools but I still don't understand why people feel the need to use third party defrag tools on todays systems. I guess 'To each their own'.

I will only use defrag software if the hard drive is badly fragmented - Auslogics Disk Defrag Free
I think this tool is very useful in a old, badly maintain PC, with now maintenance done on it what so ever - Auslogics Registry Defrag
But like a said, computer would have to be in a real bad way and you have nothing to lose before you reformat machine and rebuild operating system.

It's only systems older than Vista that really struggle to do this (if at all).

Its always been a big money maker, Norton System Works and Norton utilities does the same thing, using words like "The fastest way to a faster PC" people with no knowledge read this stuff and think its the answer to all there problems like: Registry Errors, Boosts your PC's performance, Fix Corrupt Registry and lots more, all these words are highly searched for on the internet and pull a lot of traffic, which could end up as a sales for there products.

Anything with the word "Boost" in it sets alarm bells ringing for me, I always have to question "How?" especially when you see RAM Booster! ...er, how exactly does that work?
Seriously, the next time anyone says they created a RAM Booster just ask that developer how it 'boosts' the RAM. I bet they start um-ing and ah-ing.

Clearing memory to free up memory works a treat when you have lots of windows open. Virtual memory settings is another good way to tweak settings to get a bit more out of your memory. These are really the only memory tweaks that work.
