Hi all,

Got a bug with system restore not working. Tried chkdsk /f /r - SFC /scannow

I have a couple error pics messages pop up, I'll try to add them to the post.

Op system win 10 pro 64bit.
Perform SFC scan

Click 'Start' > Type cmd in the search field > Right-click the command prompt at the top of the list and select 'Run as Administrator'
Inside the command prompt, type sfc /scannow > Press 'Enter'
4. Reboot and test.
I think he stated he already tried that Compton.

What is the health of the drive?

Unfortunately not much can be done if system restore or the restore points get corrupted.
Windows updates keeps turning off system restore which really annoys me, You have to keep checking to see if its still on. But now with this system, system restore has stopped working altogether. Bugger it, I'm not in the mood for a re-install. I was hoping there would be a way to dig out a fix from the install disc or something like that.
I back up all my files to 3 seperate drives, I actually carry the original so I have 4 copies lol.
Just don't want to go down the path to reinstallation lol. But if I have too, I have too.
Thanks guys.
Oh yeah he did try that was busy Reading the error

You can do a repair install that would be less work

lol
Oh gawd, you want me to to do a re-install...
lol you are doing a repair install you will not lose any programs or data
Ok well this has fixed my lil red wagon and system restore is now working as it should.Just glad I did not have to re-install.

Here's the info I found for anyone whose had the same issue.

To apply the fix, copy the following blue text, paste it into Notepad, save it as "repair.reg", then double-click to Merge it with the registry.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71a27cdd-812a-11d0-bec7-08002be2092f}]
"UpperFilters"=hex(7):76,00,6f,00,6c,00,73,00,6e,00,61,00,70,00,00,00,00,00

This info came from here.
Somewhere along the line I must have used the Kaspersky removal tool.
