Hello

I'm wanting some clarification please about using an external drive on both Mac and a Windows PCs.
Is it still the best option to format the drive as Exfat so it will work on both machines?

Currently a friend is trying to use an external drive she uses on a mac, on a windows pc at a training course.

Would this option work:

1.Copy the files off the drive onto the mac and then in disk utility format it as exfat
2. transfer the drive to windows pc and format it as exfat again
3. reconnect the drive to the mac and copy the files back to it

thank you for your assistance. Sorry my mac experience is only minor.

regards
Wayne
Yes exFAT would be the correct way to make it work on both.
