I'm trying to clone Samsung 850 EVO SSD to Seagate HDD 1TB drive as I'd like a spare drive with windows 10. Clone is successful, however I'm left with reduced storage on HDD. I can't extend partitions so was wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Welcome to the forums. If you use Macrium Reflect to do the cloning there is a LINK at the bottom called "Clone partition properties"... that link allows you to re-size your clone during the cloning process.
