Hi Folks.
I have a problem with event viewer. I have tried the usual google searches and suggestions including Registry edits and SFC scans but to no avail.
I am looking for inspiration before i do a reload of windows or even wait till the update comes. Thanks

To Fix MMC Could Not Create The Snap-in

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MMC\SnapIns

[attachment=3585]

Look for FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510} and select Export. Save to desktop.

Once backup is done, you can now Delete FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510}

Restart and hopefully your problem is resolved
nope that didnt work.
I did read that windows will recreate that registry value and it sorts the problem but when I run regedit again the key is not there but I still get the error message on event viewer. I may try a system restore point from a few days ago but im not too sure when this stopped working as is it a while i checked the event log
Thanks

Nigel
Yes and running according to Windows features
Have you tried to add text below to environment variable?

;%SystemRoot%\System32\WBEM;

Do you have all these ticked and install?.

Net Framework as per your pic .
Environment variables are a bit beyond me I know how to access them but where do I insert the text and does it go under user or system variables?
Thanks Brian (if its You)

Have you or a program messed with any windows system services?

I want to say if wmi performance adapter is disabled you would run into that error.

There could be more services but off the top of my head i cant think of em
Yes its me Brian ie Britec  Big Grin

  1. You need to add tick in .NET Framwork 3.5 then reboot.
  2. To access Environment Variables
  3. In search type system
  4. Open Advanced System Settings
  5. Click Environment Variables

You can try this fix:

Press Windows key and X at the same time.
Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth.

This command is used to check if an image is repairable. Scan the image to check for corruption. This operation will take several minutes.

Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This command is used to repair an image.

If this don't work you can reinstall MMC Microsoft Management Console
Hi thanks for all your help. I have learnt something new and will check the various settings to check they comply. I have however installed the latest version of windows and this has sorted the problem.
Cheers all
