Full Version: How to restart dnscache service

i am using Windows 10 Pro Fall Creators Update x64

i have tried restart dnscache service but it gives me error even though i did run command prompt as administrator.

this is frustrated because i don't wanna clean reinstall OS

here things i tried:
sfc /scannow: no corrupted system files found
Dell built in diagnostic on boot: hard drive self test passed
CrystalDiskInfo: healthy
Avast free edition: no threats found
Malwarebytes Premium 14 free trial: no threats found

also i have downloaded from: https://www.grc.com/inspectre.htm to double check and making sure if still i'm protect against Meltdown and Spectre

Download the dnscache service reg file and merge it to your registry restart your computer and see what happens
i have downloaded registry file, then applied the registry hack, then restarted my computer and then still not working  Angry

The link talks about the dependencies of dns client and has info about it. Dnscache doesnt exist in the system services but may show up in the services in the registry.

Ill see what i can find online and pass it a long if i find anything
Whats the error?
