Dissapointed Windows Media Center is to be discontinued, but here are some good alternatives for Windows Media Player are
- WinAmp (Discontinued The project seems to be no longer developed) Still can be downloaded and used
- MPC-HC (Discontinued As announced in their official news) Still can be downloaded and used
- Foobar2000 Plays all media and very lightweight
- VLC Media Player (Great for all types of media, but no library menu)
- MVP Media Player (Open Source) Lightweight
- SMP Player Free Open Source software and AD Free, Lightweight and customisable
- PotPlayer (very customisable)
- MediaMonkey (freemium software)
- ITunes Need i said anything?

I did like WMP but for some reason whilst playing music, it kept jumping. Not sure why. After seeing the list you provided, I opted for
foobar2000 and it's nice and light with no jumping of tracks.

I am currently using Windows media player on Windows 10 1709 version. If Microsoft dumps it, will it get automatically deactivated/deleted?

I would guess it would be deleted
