Britec Tech Support Forum - General question

I have watched a lot of videos (Britec) where I notice you going to the bottom of a list of files, like temp files, for example that are going to be deleted. What I want to know is when I select the topmost file and highlight it, then proceed to the bottom most file and hold down the shift key and highlight the entire bunch of files.....how do you go in to the list of highlighted files and select of 3 or 4 files that you want to keep without un-highlighting the entire list??? What key are you hitting to exclude certain files from deletion? I will post a video that shows this...
