It needs to be  “attributes disk clear readonly" to clear the read-only state
i tried that, same thing. ill still look around.
How much is the USB drive worth? How much is your time worth? Just buy a new USB $12 for new 32GB Sandisk Ultra
Looks like an encrypted and locked USB to me...
I would boot up Linux and format the flash drive but that's a next story by itself

I would agree with Britec get a new flash drive or you could take it a repair to get it format
ive decided to put away the infected usb. and get on with my life. its very unusual that all the things ive tried, it wont let me format. but thx for all your suggestions! never again, plug usb into tablet. maybe ill try using a micro flash memory card instead.
This type of file reading can happen if the USB was removed before it was ready, whilst still writing files. Doesn't sound like an infection just a corruption.
i think you might be right. sometimes when flash is plugged into tablet, i do remove without thinking. so the folders with the odd numbers and symbols is result of corruption. interesting. as of today, i destroyed the thing. learned lesson, always go into where the drives are located and click to eject the safe way
