cant explain it. when i logged in tonight, i noticed it was taking a while to get to log in screen. at the screen, the option to use the PIN to log in was missing. even though i was able to use PIN this morning. then in user accts on pc, i had to verify myself to log in using my microsoft acct. then i did SFC/SCANNOW and it found and fixed some corruption files. restarted. but i see this message here.. ?

also, in the section to setup a PIN, iam not able to do that

i was sure all my pc problems were gone after the repair and reinstall of windows.
With respect to the authentication requirement as the PC wakes up, paste Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options in the address bar of  the file explorer

Once there, select "Change plan settings" adjacent to your selected plan as illustrated below

Now, click the option that says "Restore default settings for this plan"  as shown below

With respect to the issue with the PIN setup, I would like you to elaborate
what you mean elaborate....the PIN option was presented to me the day i got pc back from repair after the OS was reinstalled. earlier today, i know i removed the ethernet cable breifly for several hours while i was cleaning the room...maybe that might have something to do with the PIN not showing up in log in? i dont know.

Try turning off any passwords you have restart the computer and after doing so see if you notice any problems and if no problems put the password back on and see what happens and it probably wouldn't hurt to do a scan with malwarebytes anti malware
i did scan for malware from glary utilities, found nothing. how do i turn off all passwords?
I don't use the microsoft account login on my machine. Too much hassle. Here's a video Brian did...maybe it will help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is-Joh5stqY

What else can the word "elaborate" mean? You specified  in your initial post  and I quote: "also, in the section to setup a PIN, iam not able to do that"

I wanted you to be precise; what is it that you were not able to do?
when i go into settings and then sign in options, clicked on set a pin. then i input password to verify its me. but after that, there is no setup screen. something is not right here, i dont know what.

I would like you to switch to a local account as explained at https://tinyurl.com/gspl78u; when it asks for a password for the local account, leave the field blank

Now see if it lets you create a new pin. Sorry for the delayed reply; was a little busy of late
