Hey guys,

I've got a bit of a tricky one here. Ever since hooking up my MacBook Pro to my computer monitor the sound hasn't worked on it since plugging the monitor back into my graphics card in my Windows desktop. I don't know why it isn't working anymore? I've tried uninstalling the drivers, updating the drivers, and even did a re-install via the media creation tool (but kept all apps and data) to see if that would rectify the problem and it hasn't. The speakers on the monitor do still work because when I switch the monitor on the startup beep/ sound still works no problem. The monitor is always plugged in via an HDMI cable, the picture is no problem, just no sound? I've also tried the troubleshooting option which prompted me to restart the PC to apply changes but that didn't fix anything either.

ok if you have an HDMI port on the motherboard itself Plugin the HDIM cable to the motherboard then check for sound

Thanks to your reply, Compton, I had realised I actually plugged the HDMI into the motherboard instead of my graphics card, hence why there was no sound. Sorry, I did a silly thing haha, my bad.
