Can someone help me? Really new to linux running ubuntu 16.04 and I want to check to see if my laptop is needed the patch but I have no idea how to check and also how to apply a fix for this issue.. can someone please help?

Spectre will also need a BIOS update when your motherboard manufacture release it if they ever do.
