Full Version: Data Backup Using OneDrive

A little over a year ago, the company that I used for data backup discontinued service. So I had to come up with a solution really quick to merge all my data. I then purchased Office 365 Home that gives you 1TB of storage for up to 5 users... That's 5TB  Big Grin

First, I relocated my OneDrive folder to the Data drives of all my PC's. Then I relocated my user folders... Desktop, Music, Downloads, Photos, and Videos into the OneDrive folder.

I also store an image of the system along with image backups to the same folder, but since you are limited to only upload and download 2GB files in OneDrive, the images must be split up. Paragon Image Backup includes this setting when creating backup jobs.

This was intended to be temporary, but became a permanent backup solution. Can't beat it for $99.99 a year though.

Sorry this isn't a pictorial guys... Sad

Thanks Rich!
great tutorial larry
Very creative, Larry
You can also set up something like syncback to create a sort of manual "hybrid" backup to an external drive. OneDrive syncs files and doesn't include versioning, so if you get hit with ransomware, the encrypted file will be saved and original disappear.

Edit: Or you can use Backupper that Brian just did a video on...
