Hi Tamilmech

Welcome to Britec forums.

Firstly, what are the commands you are using to format your pendrive (in full please)

Secondly, is the pendrive Write Protected?
Open search by clicking start button type cmd

Once open type chkdsk X: /f
replace X with whatever drive it is.
i tried this type chkdsk X: /f but not worked bro........

first i trying in command prompt administrator in diskpart

and then type list disk

and select my disk 1

and then type clean

it is'diskpart has encountered an error: the request could not be performed because of an i/0 device error"

what is write protected in pendrive?????GuiltySpark

Some Pendrives (thumb drives etc) have a switch to write protect the data, if yours doesn't have any don't worry.

If the pendrive is listed as Disk 1, then try:

Diskpart

List disk

Select disk# (where # represents your disk number in this case 1)

Clean all (this will erase all data on the disk and will take a while to do)
hi guiltyspark i typed clean all after select disk 1 but always says

'diskpart has encountered an error: the request could not be performed because of an i/0 device error"CryCryCryCryCryCryCry[Image: 742e55c1_o.png]
If you have tried everything and it still don't work, its possible the pen drive is faulty and requires replacing. How old is the pen drive? You could try and format with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool, if that don't work I would say the flash drive is bad.

If you want to keep trying, work you way through this list I/O Device Error
hp tool says failed to format.........i buy my pendrive before 7 months...........any video is there to solve i/o device error sir?????

Your pen drive is bad. The only fix for that would be to replace it.
