Doing a clean install of windows xp right before i get to the options to select the screen settings and go through the checking of the internet i get a bsod inacessable boot device before i even get a chance to see my desktop. I did a dell diagnostic on the hard drive and it passed so i dont know whats going on

It looks like the SATA controller mode needs to be set to IDE or the compatibility mode in BIOS if you want to install XP from scratch

Xp doesnt like the raid on/ahci but i turned it to raid on/ata there was no problems thank you partha. We can close the thread
