Ive been researching win32fileseperation and i found multiple values 12,26,16,1a,2a etc ive also ran into somethin about dividing by 3 and something about cpu ticks.

What would a tech do to configure this setting?

Below are some links i checked out about the processor quantum.

smirk just thinking about tweaking that make me want to take a nap Big Grin
These are all very old tweaks and go back to 2001  Big Grin not sure how they would stand up in 2017

Their is a tool out there that used to have an Unofficial Windows XP Service Pack 4, They took it out of the tool, but would be very interesting to test it out. I'm sure that Brian may have already tested it in a VM... Right Brian?...lol
Is it for a server? Are you not happy with the current speed of processing (XP is pretty quick already)?
What are you trying to achieve with the computer?
Its just something i like to try out is all and with the tweak enableautolayout where it puts the most accessed files first ive been using that on all my systems that have a mechanical hard drive and i find my self to have a better experience with windows in general no it doesnt make my system faster but it does seem snappier (i dont use the boot optimize function because ive noticed that it causes delays during the boot up process) but if i can master a good switch setting for win32fileseperation i feel as if i can finally let the window tweak side of me go because ill have what my experience with windows complete. I dont find it nessassary to install xp on an ssd drive i mean its bad enough im still using xp. My windows 10 machine has an ssd so i know what all the hype is about. Also with windows xp and an old machine what do i got to lose? A crappy machine that was prime back in its day but as long as the machine works might as well use it and if it breaks oh well it was probably going in the garbage anyways.
I don't quite understand what your asking, you already stated you are using the foreground / background processing choice and as there is only the option of 3 to choose from its hard to work out what more you're trying to achieve.
