Enable new Command Prompt features in Windows 10

Command Prompt in Windows 10 with a number of new features, You must clear the Use legacy console check box to be able to access the new options.  But when enabled, you will get new features for instances copy and paste keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V, copy multiple text lines and resize the console width beyond 80 characters, there is more feature as well like add transparency to the Command Prompt window, and many more, so check it out and have fun with command prompt. 

Standard Command Prompt

Right click on the command prompt icon in the title bar and select Properties.

Remove tick in use legacy console and restart command prompt

Now just adjust what settings you want

Find out what new feature there are in Windows 10 command prompt
Its possible telemetry and data collection can re-enable itself if not set up right.

Disable Windows 10 Lockscreen

Type “gpedit.msc” in search box and click on Local Group Policy Editor. 

Expand the “Computer Configuration” then expand “Administrative Templates“ then “Control Panel” and then “Personalization“.
on the right hand pane of “Personalization” folder, look for the option “Do not display the lockscreen” double click and Enable.

This will disable windows 10 Lockscreen



Refresh Group Policy


Right-Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then press ENTER. When Command Prompt window opens.

Type gpupdate, and then press ENTER.
