I don't know, but he has put a lot of copper on there, I would think it would have some effect, but how much and is it worth doing. that's the question.
At least he put new compound on, which will definitely make a difference.

It looks like they know its a bad design because the have changed the design of the new fans, a lot more copper and bigger cooling block with cooling fins.

Even this looks a good Idea, more copper, I wonder if its on the bottom of the fan unit.

That's really bad!
That first pic looks like an emerging Cyber Man (early days) lol
My guess is about 10-15 Celsius difference.
