I agree with Compton, safe mode is only for troubleshooting and besides, just because you are in safe mode, doesn't mean it is going to be faster, it depends on the drive itself and anyway, a normal hard drive takes a fair amount of time or longer to defragment.

You don't need to defrag, windows takes care of that for you.

Bu if you want to defrag from command prompt.

type: defrag /C /H /V


or defrag c: /H /V /A
