I restarted windows 7 after some updates and got the following error in the title so i decided to do a startup repair it couldn't fix the problem so i booted up hirens boot cd clicked on the black tools box a list popped up then i went to the tool used to fix issues after replacing a motherboard which completed successfully so i then restart the computer and got the same error so i booted up the windows 7 install disk and went to the startup repair it still couldn't fix the issue i also tried chkdsk also so im assuming my hard drive is toast but im hoping you guys tell me otherwise
You can try one of these solutions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2673509, if none will work, then you may need to reinstall Windows
And the only options i have in the bios are ide and raid

I tried all of the steps suggested in the link you gave and i still get the same error

HP Compaq dx7300 Slim Tower PC is the model and the link below should send you to the overview website on hp

What were the check disk results? Also, are you able to boot into safe mode?
No, i would be able to get to the logo of win 7 and my pc would blue screen and safe mode it would load some of the drivers then blue screen so i just installed a different os and it seems to not be doing it. The hard drive checks out clean though it was just something messed up with the system install some where. We can close the thread if you like

It could've been either some corrupt system files then or perhaps some malware that caused the blue screen.

which antivirus was installed on your system when the blue screen happened?
I didn't have an antivirus at the time because I was installing updates still
Boot back into your Windows 7 cd and try a system restore.
