What I will talk about in this tutorial is what you can do to keep your windows OS running as fast as you first installed it. Here are six contributors in making your PC slow down over time.

First:   Programs the more you have on your PC the slower it becomes not including updates.

Second:   Disk space, is contributor to slowing down your PC. This is how it works your disk fills up from inner part of the platter to the outer part,  the swap space moves outward as the disk fills up making retrieval time  slower. When your disk is full the swap space ends up fragmented making retrieval of data even slower.

Third:   Open up "MSconfig" you will find 3 to 5 updaters several quick-launch services running without you knowing. All slow down your PC. Why are they there? to accommodate all the programs you have installed, and to run windows features, that you may not even use.(some you will use).

Fourth:   Fragmentation of the disk will slow your PC down. Disk fragmentation is not a problem on the newer windows OS, it does it for you. If you are running windows 7 or older you need to defragment your disk. Something you want to do once a month just to save time.

Fifth:    Websites and Browsers, will slow your PC down, as they get more" complex " The harder it is for your outdated hardware to run them. Specifically, your graphics keeping these  updated is more important than ever. If you don't have updated Graphics chipsets,  your PC will slowdown.

Sixth:   Here's a problem virus programs, If you uninstall your virus program hoping to get performance and then you get infected. Today you may not even know your infected it just seems like a mild slow down, when it's a virus or malware slowing down your PC.

Recap:      Limit the programs you install.

Save all the disk space as possible.

Optimize your startup.

Defragment Regularly.

Update Graphics chipset

Keep a good antivirus/malware software.

Do these things and you should always have a responsive PC
