For the last 3 days whenever I attempt to run the Windows backup to my 4TB external drive, I get this error code. Normal usage of the 4TB drive is fine. VSS is running OK. Any ideas why the WIN 10 backup will not function? Aomei and Lazesoft run with no issues.
Can you try a backup with
Macrium Reflect its free.
I would suggest you try Macrium Reflect, because at least you have a backup before we try and fix the issue.

Yeah, you can use what ever you like. Best get a backup first.

After much experimentation and totally crashing my computer to the point that none of my bag of tricks allowed my to reboot due to some type of corrupted file, I stumbled on my AOMEI USB boot disk. The program reset to an earlier time but still my boot kept sending me to the Windows repair program. I have no idea how I finally got it to bypass it but low and behold I got it booted.
So now my only question is how do I determine which of the many partitions that were created out of this mess can I get rid of? I use mini-tool but there are duplicates on quite a few partitions. Should I just leave well enough alone? Thanks. Oui..
ps. No longer get error code. Windows backup and Macrium runs great.

I can use my phone to take a picture. Not sure how to capture the screen into a jpg.

No. In addition to the 1gb C: drive, I have a 4tb WD USB drive and a 2tb WD USB drive. The rest are USB thumb drives. I unpluged all USB drives and took another picture.
