I wonder what the percentage of people is who just click next. bet its very high
WOW That's not good, nice find Jason, what did you wake up this morning and say...right I am going to find some dirt on Microsoft. Big Grin
The same every day ;-)
Well don't go digging for dirt on me...your be there all day  Dodgy
I don't understand this. it's a 'Technical Preview' of course there is going to be data collection especially with the likes of the Cortana function so keylogging in these early stages is going to be a must to build up a database of how the software can best function to all users. I really don't see what the issue is nobody with half a brain cell is going to give away their banking details and such like on an unsecured Preview.
You'd be surprised what people do to get their hands on a "free" operating system.

But it's not a free OS at all as it will eventually be shutdown in a short period of time same as Win 8 Dev Preview, Win 8 Consumer Preview and all 'test' versions of OS's before it, it is to all standards nothing more than a Beta version.
It would be nice to be able to opt in or opt out and tell people you are collecting keystrokes and voice to text data. Just collecting data without letting people know first is asking for trouble. Also because Microsoft say they will not use this information for anything but making the operating system better does not me they won't.

Put it this way, in the UK we get our personal information sold to company's all the time, without our consent, then you get cold calling, spam mail, junk mail.

They are not supposed to do it, but they do.

To stop marketing cold callers register with these.

but there is a way to get rid of it

Yep. The best way is to lob it out of a high rise building and never go back. LOL
