As title says, my friend has a PC running Windows 8.1 which came pe-installed from the shop. He has got himself a SSD and we are wondering the best way to install his OS onto new drive. Any suggestions would be great.

Hey Raddy!
I'm pretty sure Brian's video on cloning windows 8 will work the same on 8.1 is the drive the same size as the other or close?
Also https://clonezilla.org/ is a pretty amazing piece of software. it's nice because it's a boot-able disk.

BLACK 2.5" SATA TO USB HARD DRIVE LAPTOP XBOX CADDY HDD CASE ENCLOSURE USB 2.0
Just dump all you data on that so you can save space on your SSD.
