The ideal way to check for connected devices will generally be to use your router’s web interface but this software makes it a lot easier and plus, it's absolutely free
There is this great little program called Wireless Network Watcher by a developer named Nir Sofer, that you can use to track the devices that are connected to your wireless network.
It will display their device names, MAC addresses, and the names of their network adapter manufacturers
