I could use some help on an issue I've seen twice.

On both occasions folk with laptops have upgraded to windows 10 and it's failed.

One person took their laptop to the repair shop to get Windows 7 reinstalled.
And still after a little while, it stops booting into Windows 7 and tries to set up Windows 10.
She said they wiped the hard drive each time and did a clean install, going by them!

The chap I heard from last night, it's roughly the same issue, a modern Windows 7 Dell laptop
He tried to upgrade to Windows 10, he now doesn't have a working laptop.

Can anyone help please.

James.
are you sure the hard drive are not failing

on the laptops
He's getting this now, it's hard as I don't have the laptop on my desk.

It may well be the hard drive.

I got the laptop on my desk, I couldn't do a thing with it, nothing would boot so formatted everything except the recovery partition then installed windows 7, then ran crystal disk info, his hard drive is shot!

You were right, thanks.

I've now installed another hdd tested working okay, Windows 7 is just updating at this moment and he'll have a working laptop back today.
glad you got everything working

Merry Christmas have a good one
